Things I Can’t Live Without

I wanted to do this post and see how many people would agree with some of the things I can’t live without. I also didn’t know if I should do it more sentimental or more on the funnier side. So, in the end, I decided to split it up into two half lists. I know, I’m trying to be a little crazy here!
The More Amusing Things I Can’t Live Without
These first 5 items are very essential to me. I feel like I would need them to live and be content, but not things that are the most important things in my life.
Coffee

I know a lot, I mean, A LOT of you would feel the same way. Coffee is needed at some part of the day. I love my morning coffee. I feel like I need it to feel awake and ready to take on the day. My boys even know this. “Don’t talk to Mom unless she has the first sip of her coffee”.
I then really enjoy some coffee in the late afternoon. A little pick-me-up before the evening starts. And then I am DONE. No late-night coffee for me, even if it is de-calf.
Chapstick and Eye drops
My lips are constantly dry. As well as my eyes. That is why I placed them in the same “can’t live without” category. I feel like I wouldn’t be able to go through my day without these two very important and necessary items.
Dry lips are so unattractive too. When you don’t have access to any kind of lip moisturizing thing, you start to lick them. And lick them. To the point, they get all bleeding, cracked, and peeling. Eww!
And then there are dry eyeballs. They are incredibly uncomfortable for a person. I have probably 3-4 bottles on hand, in all different places around the house, and one ALWAYS in my purse.
Reading glasses

This is sort of self-explanatory. No glasses, no reading. I need to be able to read the little typing on things from children’s Tylenol to ingredients for a recipe. But who am I kidding, I pretty much need them for everything. I am even wearing them right now!
Books

I love to read. I read a lot during my teens and younger adult years. So because of how my eyesight is now, I have switched to audiobooks. Which in fact, has its pros and cons. I can listen to a book while doing dishes, washing floors, laundry, etc. But I really miss curling up with a warm coffee and a good hard-cover book.
Music

I NEED music. And I love all different kinds, except for heavy metal and crazy music where every other word is the f-word. I always need to have it in the background, or nice and loud to get me pumped up, or to dance like no one is watching.

Now, For the More Serious Things I Can’t Live Without
My Sons
My boys are my LIFE! I always knew I wanted to be a mom. And luckily I was able to have them before I got sick and couldn’t have more babies. I share the boys with their dad. He and I both have 50/50 custody, and the boys go back and forth between homes. I can’t wait to see them when they come to me, but also can’t wait till I have some me-time. The funny thing is though when they walk out the door and go to their dad’s, I find the house so empty and quiet. I miss them almost instantly.
I honestly don’t know what I would do without them. They are my everything.
God’s word

Which brings me to this. I wouldn’t be who I am and where I am without my Holy God. He is my stronghold and my refuge. My love and my peace. And the list can go on and on, of the words that He represents in my life and is to me. I mean, come on. he gave me my two boys and Life. What more could ask for!
Hugs

Who honestly doesn’t appreciate a hug? Or need a hug once and a while? I know, I know, there are people who really don’t like them. But I think they are far and few between. I’ve had to learn that with some people I need to ask, but for the most part, I LOVE giving hugs. And receiving them. Growing up and in the present, my family would always hug. By saying “Hello” and then again by saying “Goodbye”. And you would have to hug everyone.

Laughter

” Laughter is the best medicine”. And that has been so true for me. Between losing my mom at a young age, being diagnosed with Leukemia at 28, and then going through a divorce with the one I thought I was going to be with for the rest of my life, having LAUGHTER in my life has been a saving grace. I LOVE to laugh and laugh a lot.
Sunshine

The sun just makes everything better. It makes me happy. And glad that I’m alive to see it. it’s beautiful, going up and going down, and all that’s in between. I’m sure that I’m not the only one that feels that way either.
