What Smiling Does for the Soul

Smiling is my thing. People have said that they always see me with a smile. I don’t know, I just love to do it. Smiling holds a top spot on my “favorite things” list. That and laughing until I can’t breathe. Smiling is not simply a facial expression. It can have such a great impact on a person and I believe it is one of the most delightful and engaging things we as humans can do. But what smiling does for the soul, well that’s even better!

5 Reasons Smiling is Good for your Soul
1. Your smile belongs to you and only you.
Your smile is distinctive to you. There is nothing to enhance it. It is so unique to YOU and you are allowed to have every right to show it off whenever you want!
2. A smile says what words cannot.
A smile can mean a lot of different things. It can be flirtatious, a wordless way of saying HI, a healthy amount of sarcasm, and the list goes on. A smile can be whatever you make of it.
3. It’s the result of your happiness.
We smile because we cannot hold in our happiness. We become so delighted that we don’t know how to handle the joy and excitement, so we have to smile in order to keep ourselves from bursting with happiness.
4. A smile has the power to break barriers.
A smile is always the perfect solution to break down tough barriers such as different languages or the anxiety that goes hand and hand with meeting new people.
5. It is the best of both worlds.
A smile has the ability to make someone’s day better, but it can also make your day better also. Try to wake up with a smile on your face and see if it can improve not only your mental health but also make your general view on life more positive!
