My Love of Writing

It has been such a long time. And I’m so sorry!

I’m going to do better in the new year. I have such a love of writing! I even bought myself a Macbook for Christmas.

And a Ukulele. That’s a whole different story! 

A Sample of my Writing

I thought I would make a post that contains some of the writing I did in the writing class I took.

We were given some pictures to look through and pick one write about. I chose one with a woman sleeping in a dark room.

It doesn’t have any title yet. I really hope you find it somewhat enjoyable.

The room was dark and quiet. There was a stillness in the air, but the loud throbbing in my head was too much to handle.

As I lay there in the unmade bed, I hurried my head into the pillows and cried.

How long had I been in bed? Am I ever going to beat this? Am I ever going to make it out of this bed again? What is going to become of me? My family?

As the questions swarmed around and around in my head, I was wishing that I could shut them up.

I want to get out of this bed and run out of this room. To leave behind the smell of sickness and sadness.

I want to go and run outside into the open air and take a big deep breath. Take in the smell of living things and sweet happiness. 

I want to hear the singing birds and my children laughing.

I want to feel the sun on my skin and the soft breeze on my face.

That was not going to happen. I was too sick to do any of those things. That was just going to have to wait. 

Right now I have to endure this pain and sickness and hopefully make it to the other side of my life.

My Dad always had told me “Good things come to those who wait”. 

But I really am getting tired of waiting.

In this dark depressing room and this hot, and too cold bed.

The bed that loneliness and pain resides.

How much waiting do I have to do for the good?

I am not always awesome at sharing my work. I am always scared of criticism, I guess. And my writing is not good enough. I do plan on changing that.

Tomorrow is a whole new year and I feel like good things are going to happen for me and my love of writing. I hope you stick around to read more.
