Awkward and Idiotic Moments

Have you ever had one of these? Those awkward and idiotic moments in life.
Where you feel like a complete fool for something and all you can smile and pretend like it’s no big deal.
Well, that was me on this particular day.
The morning of my idiotic day
I got out of bed on time. which is a task for me sometimes. I got ready and made myself a coffee. This was the morning of my appointment at the Step Forward program I was attending for the past eight weeks. Feeling really good, I looked outside and my mood changed. It looked cold and windy…Not the best weather to go outside and wait at the bus stop for the bus.

I gave myself enough time to get my shoes on, get my keys, get my phone, and walk to the bus stop without falling. This can be a triumph for me. And, people don’t shovel their sidewalks.
I mean come on, really? I even do it. Is it that hard to get outside and shovel the sidewalk?
The bus arrived, I got on and took a seat. It was only a 20-minute ride and I was going to be on time.

At the appointment, My teacher was going to see how I was doing physically. They call it the exit assessment.
The moment where I felt like a fool
I got there and I had no idea which room I was supposed to go to. Big surprise, right? I never know where I’m supposed to be. And the people close to me know this all too well.
I walked around aimlessly looking for my instructor.
I went to the room that we usually have the fitness classes in and looked inside. There were a whole bunch of preschoolers running around and my instructor was nowhere to be seen. I walked around again just to make sure that I hadn’t missed it
My on-time status slowly diminishing.
The Final and Awkward Moment
.“Can I help you?” Asked the receptionist.
“Yes. I’m looking for the classroom in which the Step Forward program exits assessments are.”
She looked at me very confused.
.“Sorry. Um, I’m supposed to be here for the Step Forward program. I have an exit appointment with Barb. She’s my instructor.” I said
“Yes, we know Barb. Let me take a look here.” She said and looked at her computer.
“I am supposed to be here today. It’s Wednesday, right? Yes. I’ll show you my calendar. It’s definitely on Wednesday”
I pulled out the calendar that Barb had given to me and showed her.
“You’re right. It is on Wednesday.” she said “Unfortunately, that’s next week Wednesday”
“So, I’m not supposed to be here.” putting a nice smile on my face. I wanted to throw my heads up in the air and scream.
“Sorry, my dear”
“Oh, No worries. I really just wanted to come to see you, fine ladies. It’s all good!” I said as nicely as I could.
“So, I guess I’ll see you next week! Have a great day” I turned and walked out the door.
I walked to the bus stop just as the 125 bus pulled away. The bus I had to catch to get home.
I guess this day could only get better from here. Right?
That’s an example of Awkward and Idiotic Moments that happen in someone’s life.
