Most Proud Moment
Blog – The Rocky Roads of Life

Hello Friends,
How is the weekend so far?
At least it’s sunny out!
Let me first summarize this
Proud
- the feeling deep pleasure or satisfaction as a result of one’s own achievements, qualities, or possessions
- Occasioning or being a reason for pride
- Feeling or showing justifiable self-respect

So, this post is tough because I have a hard time choosing. It’s a hard toss-up between two times in my life.
Let me tell you about both.
I also feel like I have lots of proud moments. Especially whence is having children. I am constantly proud of them and the little things they achieve.
Which brings me to my first proudest moment.
Bringing my first baby into this world. I was able to carry him to full term. And even longer because the little bugger would not come out. The doctors even needed to use forceps to get him out.
Needless to say, it was a long and hard delivery. But that all didn’t matter when they placed my baby in my arms. And when he looked up and into my eyes, I was so proud. Proud of myself, and proud of the little guy I was holding.
And the proud moments with him kept coming and still do…

The other proud moment is sometimes hard to feel.
It’s difficult to pat myself on the back. To tell myself “You are awesome and you have done so great”. It’s no secret, I’ve been through the wringer a couple of times. Being diagnosed with Leukemia at 29 has been one hell of a battle.
But I am still here. And for that reason I am proud.
- I am Proud of my boys for loving me at my worst.
- I am Proud of my family for always being there and not leaving me when I needed them.
- I am Proud of my closest friends for visiting me or taking me out somewhere and listening to me.
- I am Proud of my Auntie for always showing up and helping me out.
- I am Proud of the surrounding community of people that have supported me.
I have so many people to thank for everything.

And, yes, I am Proud of myself. For waking up each day and dealing with ever comes. Having the courage to face each obstacle I have to overcome. I am proud, and I have to remind myself about that often.
Remind yourselves of how much you have been through. And how much you have accomplished.
BE PROUD.
